- Turbo M10 Build -
50th Anniversary Edition

Here's a List of MODz Done Before the Turbo Build

Suspension:
- New control arms, tie rods and M3 offset bushings
- 325 trailing arms & Kmac adjustable TA bushings

- All poly everywhere else (sub-frame, tranny, diff,  motor mounts...)
- D2 Racing RS Coilovers (See Pics Below)

- Rear TC Kline Shorty springs w/height adjusters (more range then the D2's)

- Combo of 325es and 325is sway bars

- Bavauto preload adjustable front strut brace and rear shock tower brace
- E36 2.7 lock to lock steering rack

Brakes:
-325 front vented discs (ATE Powerslots) w/Hawk HP+ pads

-325 rear oem discs w/PBR Metalmaster pads
- Braided steel and teflon coated lines

Tranny:
- A custom built Getrag by the one and only Jim Blanton (this thing is bullett proof)

- Connected to an M3 228mm clutch & flywheel

Diff:

- 3:91 LS

Tires/Wheels:
- Racing Dynamics Pro1 15x7

- Kumho V710  225/50 R15 (Awesome tires)

Engine:
- M10 of course!
- Redline is 7500RPM+

- 2002 forged crank (80mm stroke)

- Wiseco Forged pistons (92mm)

- All sorts of other stuff that make the crank and pistons work reliably and efficiently (My Secret)

Onboard Management:

- Stand alone fuel/ignition management (SDS EM4-4F)  www.sdsefi.com

Car weight:

- 2267lbs fully wet and without driver

- M10 Turbo Manifold -

The 1st item for the build is an M10 Turbo Manifold with T3 adaptor flange.

It's a 1 5/8" equal length tubing split pulse manifold made by the one and only 'Good & Tight'.

(This manifold has now been modified with a T25 flange)

 11/17/2010: The Build Has Begun

The build will be by Hank, sign below

I will  be listing incoming parts and as progress is

made I will show more of the 'changes' being done...

Installed: Adaptronic 440 Universal Select ECU

Features

  • "3D" Fuel and Ignition maps (as on any sophisticated aftermarket ECU)
  • Configurable ignition and injection outputs to suit different applications
  • Inputs for water temperature, air temperature, auxiliary temperature (eg turbo), external Manifold Air Pressure sensor, Throttle Position Sensor, knock sensor, EGO (exhaust gas oxygen)
  • Internal MAP sensor suitable for up to 40 psi of boost
  • Outputs for four injector groups - allows full sequential injection up to 4-cylinders, or semi-sequential injection up to 8- cylinders
  • Outputs for four igniter groups - allows full sequential spark up to four cylinders and wasted spark systems up to 8-cylinders, or any conventional distributor systems
  • Eight configurable auxiliary outputs - four of which are configurable as high current outputs, three of which are PWM capable
  • Eight configurable digital inputs
  • Numerous diagnostic LEDs, including LEDs to indicate trigger input detection and injector/ignition outputs
  • 3.5mm headphone jack for listening to knock
  • PC interface via USB cable
  • Field upgradeable firmware
  • Datalogging via 'WARI' PC software
  • Free support by forum, email and phone
  • 12 month 'return to base' warranty
  • Adaptive fuel control - with configurable tolerances and loop gains, and conditions under which adaptive behaviour takes place
  • Narrow-band (factory EGO sensor) closed loop fuel control
  • Flex Fuel control (requires fuel composition sensor to be fitted)
  • High current programmable outputs - allows direct drive of solenoid valves for boost control, air bypass etc
  • Special function programmable outputs - allows control of anti-pollution purge valves, air conditioners etc
  • Open-loop and closed-loop idle bypass control - allows configuration of increased idle bypass amount based on low battery, electrical load, air conditioner, as well as correction based on RPM, optional ignition timing control for idle speed regulation
  • Programmable for many different crank/cam angle sensor waveforms
  • Open-loop and closed-loop boost control
  • Dual closed-loop variable valve timing (VVT) channels
  • Traction control and launch control
  • Many other features
